All Technology Summit participants and their families are invited to join our annual NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service on Friday, February 16 to help give back to communities across Indiana. Working in partnership with Million Meal Movement and the Indiana Pacers, more than 5,000 total volunteers will roll up their sleeves to sort and pack one million meals for 24 consecutive hours to support food insecure families and individuals. This project accommodates volunteers ages 6 and up and of all abilities.  

DAY OF SERVICE DETAILS
Date/Time:  Thursday, February 15 at 4:00 p.m. – Friday, February 16 at 4:00 p.m.
Event Location:  Lucas Oil Stadium (500 South Capitol Avenue, Indianapolis, IN)
NBA & Tech Summit Volunteer Shift:  12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 16  

REGISTRATION – TECH SUMMIT GUESTS ONLY
Tech Summit guests can register for Day of Service at the Tech Summit. Guests are also welcomed to register ahead of time using the link here. All volunteers will need to sign a waiver form. Guests who register ahead of time will receive their waiver via email.

FAMILY REGISTRATION
If your family members are interested in participating, they may sign up using the link here. Family members are encouraged to walk to Day of Service from their hotel (transportation will not be provided), and you can meet them at Lucas Oil Stadium at the conclusion of Tech Summit.

TRANSPORTATION
Shuttles will be provided from the JW Marriott to Lucas Oil Stadium for Tech Summit guests only. Guests may also walk given the short distance (<15 minutes). An interior path is available using the skywalks and connectors through the Indiana Convention Center. There is also parking available in the South Lot of Lucas Oil Stadium for those who wish to drive.

7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Volunteer Check-In at Lucas Oil Stadium (for family members and all other NBA guests/volunteers)
At check-in, volunteers will receive:

12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

1:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

2:00 p.m.

3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

ATTIRE
If you plan to participate, we encourage Summit guests to wear (or bring) “working” attire to the Summit (comfortable clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty). All volunteers will be provided with an NBA Cares volunteer t-shirt at check-in at Lucas Oil Stadium. Remember to wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes as most volunteers will be on their feet for the duration of the volunteer session.

VOLUNTEER ESSENTIALS
What is the dress code for the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service?
We want you to be comfortable while working, so please wear clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty. Volunteers must wear closed-toe rubber-soled shoes. You will be provided with an NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service t-shirt at check-in at Lucas Oil Stadium.

What if there is inclement weather?
The NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service will take place indoors, rain, snow or shine.

Will there be food and water allowed on site?
Yes, the NBA will provide volunteers with small snacks and beverages. We encourage eating a meal before volunteering if possible.  

Will there be bathrooms available?
Yes, there will be proper facilities on-site. 

Are bags allowed?
No, bags are not allowed. Please secure your valuables and belongings in your hotel room prior to attending the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service.

Can I register my family for the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service?
Yes!  If you and your family have been invited to NBA All-Star, you are invited to participate in the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service. The site accommodates volunteers of all skill levels, ages 6 and up. 

Can my friends and I be assigned to the same project?
We will do our best to accommodate all volunteer requests once on-site. Please note, volunteer slots are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
