NBA CARES ALL-STAR DAY OF SERVICE
All participants in the Technology Summit and their families attending NBA All-Star will have the opportunity to join our annual NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service on Friday, February 16 to help give back to those in need.
Working in partnership with Baby2Baby, KaBOOM! and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on service projects including packing donations to support low income children and families, sorting food donations to distribute to those in need and building a new playground for a local school. Please note that all volunteers must be six years of age or older.
INDIVIDUAL PROJECT REGISTRATION – TECH SUMMIT GUESTS ONLY
Tech Summit guests can register for the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service at the Tech Summit. All volunteers will need to sign a release and waiver form at registration.

7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
If you have family members who are interested in participating, registration will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16 in select NBA All-Star hotel lobbies, including:
- JW Marriott Hotel Los Angeles L.A. Live
- The Beverly Hilton Hotel
- The Beverly Wilshire Hotel
Family members should plan to register at the hotels noted above between 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. and take the transportation provided to and from the project sites. Buses to the sites will be available at the Tech Summit, so you can plan to meet your family members there.
DAY OF SERVICE SCHEDULE
7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.

Registration (All guests/volunteers at participating NBA All-Star Hotels)
At registration you will receive:
- Volunteer t-shirt
- Information on transportation
*Once registered, guests will board buses and depart for the assigned project site
1:00 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
- Volunteer orientation
- Have fun and make a difference!
3:15 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Finish tasks
- Board bus for departure
3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Travel back to hotel
Buses will depart directly from the hotel registration sites and will be available at the Tech Summit for those who would like to travel with family or friends attending the Summit. Buses will return to All-Star hotels after the community service activities.
If you plan to participate, we encourage Summit guests to wear (or bring) “working” attire to the Summit (comfortable clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty). Volunteers must wear closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes to work at the project sites. All volunteers will be provided with an NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service volunteer t-shirt at registration.
What if there is inclement weather?
The NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service will take place rain or shine. We will, if necessary, provide rain ponchos for volunteers.
Will there be food and water allowed on site?
Yes, the NBA will provide volunteers with snacks and beverages throughout the afternoon. You are also welcome to bring your own refreshments.
Will there be bathrooms available?
Yes, sites will be equipped with proper facilities.
Will there be a place to lock up my belongings?
No. All volunteers will be responsible for their own items, so please secure your valuables in your hotel room prior to attending the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service.
Can I register my family for the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service?
Yes! If you and your family have been invited to NBA All-Star, you are all invited to participate in the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service. The projects accommodate volunteers ages 6 and up of all skill levels.
Can my friends and I be assigned to the same site?
Sites will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you would like to volunteer with family or friends, please be sure to register together in one of the designated NBA All-Star hotel lobbies.
