All Technology Summit participants and their families will have the opportunity to join our annual NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service on Friday, February 17 to help give back to the Utah community. Working in partnership with the Utah Food Bank, volunteers will roll up their sleeves to sort and repack food donations to aid thousands of people and families. This project accommodates volunteers (ages 6 and up) of all skill levels.  

INDIVIDUAL PROJECT REGISTRATION – TECH SUMMIT GUESTS ONLY
Tech Summit guests can register for the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service at the Tech Summit. All volunteers will need to sign a release and waiver form at registration.

FAMILY REGISTRATION
If your family members are interested in participating, their registration will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17 in select NBA All-Star hotel lobbies:

  • AC Hotel Downtown
  • The Grand America Hotel 
  • Hilton City Center 
  • Hyatt Regency (Hyatt Regency hotel guests only) 

Family members should register at the hotels noted above between 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. and board the transportation provided to and from the project site. Buses to Day of Service will be available following the Tech Summit, so you can plan to meet your family members on-site no later than 2:30 p.m. 

DAY OF SERVICE SCHEDULE
7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
Registration (Tech Summit guests at the Grand America Hotel only)

12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Registration (All guests/volunteers at participating NBA All-Star Hotels)
At registration you will receive:

*Once registered, guests will board buses and depart for their assigned project site

12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

2:00 p.m.

3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

TRANSPORTATION
Buses will depart the Grand America Hotel for the project site following the conclusion of the Tech Summit. Buses will return to the locations noted below at the conclusion of the community service activities:

ATTIRE
If you plan to participate, we encourage Summit guests to wear (or bring) “working” attire to the Summit (comfortable clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty). Remember to wear closed-toe, rubber-soled shoes. All volunteers will be provided with an NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service volunteer t-shirt at registration.

VOLUNTEER ESSENTIALS
What is the dress code for the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service?
We want you to be comfortable while working, so please wear clothes that you won’t mind getting dirty. Volunteers must wear closed-toe rubber-soled shoes to work at the project site. You will be provided with an NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service t-shirt at registration.

What if there is inclement weather?
The NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service will take place indoor, rain, snow or shine.

Will there be food and water allowed on site?
Yes, the NBA will provide volunteers with snacks and beverages throughout the afternoon.  

Will there be bathrooms available?
Yes, there will be proper facilities on-site. 

Will there be a place to lock up my belongings?
No. All volunteers will be responsible for their own items, so please secure your valuables in your hotel room prior to attending the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service. 

Can I register my family for the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service?
Yes!  If you and your family have been invited to NBA All-Star, you are invited to participate in the NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service. The site accommodates volunteers of all skill levels, ages 6 and up.

Can my friends and I be assigned to the same project?
If you would like to volunteer with family or friends, please be sure to register together in one of the designated NBA All-Star hotel lobbies. Please note, volunteer slots are limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
